About the role

Eastern Health operates five pharmacy departments. Our enthusiastic team of pharmacists and technicians are dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based care to our patients at the time they are most needed. Our pharmacy department strongly values professional development and clinical education. We have an ongoing commitment to practice-based research and offer opportunities for involvement to all staff.

Opportunities exist at Maroondah Hospital for a passionate pharmacist with sound clinical knowledge to join our dedicated team. The successful applicant will be based at Maroondah Hospital in a part-time/full-time pharmacist position, with opportunities to work at our other campuses. Depending on experience the applicant will participate in a rotational roster to provide clinical services, patient counselling and dispensary services, manufacturing (including aseptic preparations).

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Previous hospital pharmacists or community pharmacist experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal experience
  • A strong commitment to high-quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team

To be successful for a Grade 2 pharmacist position, applicants must meet the Grade 2 hospital pharmacist classification criteria as applied at Eastern Health

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
